CNN is reporting on what might possibly be a "smoking gun" in the repeated Toyota recalls for unexpected acceleration. According to the report, Toyota warned dealers in 2002 that some Camry owners were complaining of surging throttles and Toyota recommended adjustments in an electronic control unit to fix the problem. This is quite different from Toyota's recent stance that electronics play no part in the throttle problems.
I'm still amazed at the scope of the backlash. Ford, GM, and Chevy have been involved in class action lawsuits ad nauseum. I remember multiple model years being recalled routinely. Seems everyone has amnesia.
