Marietta, Georgia attorney Stephen M. Worrall writes the Georgia Family Law blog in addition to maintaining a Web site on Georgia Family Law. The blog provides:

And now, late breaking news: Steve has just started a new blog about tablet computers. They seem to be addictive to anyone who uses one. I've managed to avoid buying one so far, but if Steve and James (see the post from 3/27/07) keep writing about them, I may succumb.

Oyaka.com is a Web site where you can search for good deals on tickets to concerts, sporting events, and other such entertainment. It's easy to use, and seems to be pretty effective.

Link of the Day - The [non]billable Hour Blog

For the month of March, I am going to use my Link of the Day feature to highlight legal blogs that I think are interesting and useful. Some may not be directly related to personal injury or Social Security disability law, but each one is worth a look. Today's entry in March of the Blogs:

Matthew Homann is an amazing fellow. In a very short time he has gone from being a small-town lawyer to being a consultant who specializes in Big Ideas. Matt has my dream job -- he gets paid for sitting around and thinking about stuff. Well, maybe there's a little more to it than that, but that's the basic idea.

Matt is President and Chief Thinking Officer of realBIGthinking and LexThink, Inc. He also writes the very popular [non]billable hour blog. Matt's great talent is applying lessons from other professions, industries, and life in general to the legal profession. The hackneyed phrase for that is "thinking outside the box," and Matt does it better than just about anyone.

Link of the Day - Wines And Information Management (WIM)

For the month of March, I am going to use my Link of the Day feature to highlight legal blogs that I think are interesting and useful. Some may not be directly related to personal injury or Social Security disability law, but each one is worth a look. Today's entry in March of the Blogs:

One of the most interesting new friends I made at Techshow this month is Dominic Jaar. Dominic is a lawyer for Bell Canada, but if that was all you knew, you'd have a totally mistaken impression of him. Dominic worked his way through law school as a wine consultant. As a result, he writes a blog that combines Wines and Information Management! As Dominic says: How can one swim in the ever growing, overfilling pool of information that new technologies offer? Have a glass of wine!

Dominic was blogging live from Techshow, which means he's a much faster typist than I am. He grew up speaking French, and learned English only recently, although his English is excellent. Sometimes he blogs in French, sometimes in English, as the mood strikes him.

Dominic definitely received the award for most exciting news at Techshow. I was sitting next to him at dinner one night when he learned his wife is pregnant with their second child -- congratulations!

Another Vioxx Victory For Merck

This summary is based on a report issued moments ago by Harris Martin Publishing:

An Illinois state court jury has found Merck & Co. Inc. to be free of negligence in the Midwest's first Vioxx trial, rejecting a widower's claims that the company failed to adequately warn his wife's physician about the alleged dangers of Vioxx and that Vioxx caused her fatal 2003 heart attack.

Frank Schwaller claimed that his wife, Patricia Schwaller, suffered a fatal heart attack on August. 8, 2003, at age 52 as a result of using Vioxx for approximately 20 months. Merck maintained that it acted swiftly to try to warn doctors that Vioxx carried possibly dangerous side effects and that Schwaller's other health problems might better explain her death.

Link of the Day - The Tablet Lawyer Blog

James Province practices family law near Seattle, Washington, but is more widely known as the Tablet Lawyer. He sells several models of tablet computers, and provides free training by Internet for his customers. James publishes the Tablet Lawyer Blog.

I had the great pleasure of spending time with James at Techshow this month, and he may be the most cheerful person I have ever met. He's definitely not a high-pressure salesman, but he gets so excited about the possibilities (and practicalities) of tablet computers for lawyers that you're almost compelled to buy one from him. Besides, they're TOTALLY cool.

Anyone who has an interest in tablet computers, or who doesn't really know what they are and what you can do with them, should check out the Tablet Lawyer Web site.

Link of the Day - Sui Generis Blog

For the month of March, I am going to use my Link of the Day feature to highlight legal blogs that I think are interesting and useful. Some may not be directly related to personal injury or Social Security disability law, but each one is worth a look. Today's entry in March of the Blogs:

Rochester, New York attorney Nicole L. Black publishes Sui Generis - a New York Law Blog. Nicole provides comprehensive legal research and writing services, including appeals, on a contract basis to attorneys across New York State and beyond. She offers a broad range of services, including: 1) conducting in-depth legal research, 2) drafting all types of documents, including memoranda of law and appellate briefs, and 3) preparing dispositive motions, including Motions for Summary Judgment.

Sui Generis is a law blog for New York attorneys. Decisions from all Appellate Divisions and the New York Court of Appeals are summarized on a nearly daily basis, with a focus on cases of interest to civil litigators and criminal practitioners. Important updates regarding the rules and procedures for the federal and New York appellate courts are also provided on a regular basis.
